Preparation for School and Life
Amarillo Independent School District builds the foundation for learning through high-quality early childhood education. Early education initiatives are designed to meet young children’s intellectual, social, emotional and physical needs leading to success in school and in life.
With each child’s potential in mind, the District’s teachers and educators work with parents and partners to build a strength-based educational foundation, ensure children stay on course, graduate, attain post-secondary education and contribute to the workplace and community.
Early Childhood Education in Amarillo ISD
Our goal is to provide each child with the best possible education in a warm and safe learning environment. When parents, educators and community members work together, children benefit and reach their full potential. We want each child's first experiences in Amarillo ISD to be filled with many exciting opportunities for successful learning.
It’s Never Too Early To Get InSync
InSync exists to help families of young children connect with early learning experiences and helpful information. Early childhood education can happen in one of the Pre-K, Kindergarten, or early Elementary classrooms available through AISD, but it also happens in homes and in families every day, and we are here to help you through all of it!
In Sync is your place to…
- Find helpful information about the benefits of early childhood education.
- Be empowered to engage in early learning in your own home.
- Get connected to the early childhood educational experiences provided by AISD. Pre-K is available for those who are eligible, and Kindergarten is available for all children who are five years old on or before September 1 of the current school year.

Parents As Teachers - An AISD Program to Help Parents
We’re here to help.
Parents as Teachers, an early education and family support program, helps parents give their children the best possible start in life. Educators trained in early education and child development provide resources for parents beginning with pregnancy or birth until the child enters school.
